VSNU governing structure

All member universities have a seat in the General Council, the association’s governing body. The representative is always a permanent delegate from the Executive Board, usually the board’s presiding member. The General Council establishes the VSNU’s policies, budget and membership fees. The VSNU president chairs the General Council.

The General Council is advised by several steering committees.

Other related bodies

The Conference of Rectors is a consultative body consisting of the rector magnificus of each member university. It does not constitute a formal part of the VSNU's governing structure.

Subject committees serve as the national consultative bodies for the various scientific disciplines.

VSNU bureau

The VSNU has a policy, a communications, a labour relations and a facilities department, including institutional research. The VSNU has a permanent staff of around 40 employees.
The association is run by a Management Team (MT) consisting of the secretary general and the heads of the various departments.
