The new internationalisation monitor of education in the Netherlands shows an ongoing increase in the percentage of international students at the Dutch research universities. In 2008/9, 19734 international students, 9% of the total student population, studied in the Netherlands. This figure corresponds to the target value for 2010 set by the Dutch ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
