Top EU grant for TU Delft

Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) has been awarded a prestigious EUR 2.5 million Advanced Grant by the European Research Council (ERC). The grant goes to the Institute of Nanoscience for research in the field of nanotechnology. The research team led by Prof. Cees Dekker plans to use nanotechnology for the investigation of biological issues such as the processes inside cells.

The ERC is an executive agency of the European Commission in charge of the "ideas" specific programme of the seventh framework programme (FP7). The ideas programme supports investigator-driven frontier research, aiming at excellence in research by supporting the best researchers in engaging in adventurous research.
