Why has an agreement been reached with Taylor & Francis?

Taylor & Francis is among the eight largest publishers of academic publications in the Netherlands. Taylor & Francis has contributed to fulfilling the Dutch universities' request for participation in the irrevocable development of open access.

What are the major points of the agreement with Taylor & Francis?

A: With regard to 2016 and 2017, the parties have agreed to realise full open access for new articles published in the Taylor & Francis Open Select portfolio. Full open access applies to all corresponding authors at Dutch universities and UMCs. There will be no additional cost to individual researchers in connection with the open-access publishing of their articles.

For readers, the number of titles covered by the agreement with Taylor & Francis will be reduced somewhat in comparison with previous years. An overview of those titles covered by the agreement will be published as soon as it becomes available.

Which journals are covered by the agreement with Taylor & Francis?

For authors, the agreement applies to all journals within the Taylor & Francis and Routledge Open Select portfolio, so long as the author is a corresponding author at a Dutch university or UMC.

The number of Taylor & Francis and Routledge journals available by subscription will be reduced somewhat in comparison with previous years. An overview of those titles covered by the agreement will be published as soon as it becomes available.

When will the agreement with Taylor & Francis go into effect?

The agreement concerning universal open access will go into effect on 1 January 2016. This will apply retroactively to any articles published since 1 January 2016 as well. What this means for articles previously published in 2016 will be established in greater detail with Taylor & Francis.

Which authors can now publish their articles as open access with Taylor & Francis under the agreement?

All the corresponding authors at Dutch universities and UMCs.
