Nassim Abba (b. 1993) is a policy adviser at the VSNU. Within the International Department, he works on the internationalisation agenda, international positioning and European programmes. In the Education Department, his additional areas of focus include language policy and labour market alignment.
Nassim earned his Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Leiden University, followed by a Master’s in Public Policy and Human Development at Maastricht University & the United Nations University (UNU-MERIT). During his studies, he served as a social counsellor for the Dutch Refugee Council (VluchtelingenWerk Nederland) in Heerlen. Before joining the VSNU, Nassim worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a trainee policy officer in the regional division for the Middle East and North Africa. In his role as project assistant, he was also responsible for developing an academic preparatory programme (UniPrep) for pre-university secondary school students in Amsterdam and The Hague.
