Nieke Campagne (b. 1966) is an education policy adviser. Her areas of focus include lecturer professionalisation, admission to university education programmes, alignment with the job market, student well-being and quality assurance.
Before joining the VSNU, Nieke was a programme manager for educational innovation in the Strategy and Academic Affairs department at Leiden University. Prior to that, she worked at this same university as a senior career counsellor, policy officer and project manager in the Student and Educational Affairs department, where she focused on topics such as the education-job market connection, students’ choice of degree programme, academic success and diversity. Nieke has served as chair of the European Association for International Education’s (EAIE) Employability expert community and is affiliated with the Employability community of expertise of Advance Higher Education in the UK.
Earlier in her career, she worked in the field of recruitment & selection and was employed at an international government agency. She is listed as a study choice/career professional in the NOLOC professional register. Nieke graduated from Leiden University with a degree in Chinese Languages and Culture (1990) and has spent time studying at universities in both China and Taiwan.
